Why change what works? The only answer I have to that question is that YouTube doesn’t want their users leaving for other social networks like Facebook and Twitter, so it’s becoming them. The feature, which is internally known as “Backstage,” will allow users to share a host of multimedia content including photos, polls, links, text posts, and videos with subscribers (It was speculated earlier this year). It’s 8also expected to launch by the end of 2016 for both the desktop site and the mobile app. According to VentureBeat , YouTube Backstage will first be available to popular YouTube accounts, but with limited features.
More time within YouTube
With this YouTube should retain customers on the site for longer periods of time. So, you can say that YouTube is aiming for customer retention of some sorts.
