Everything You Should Know About Android 11 Go Edition is Here

Google has now confirmed that the new edition of Android Go based on Android 11 is now ready for budget devices. The firm also outlined the improvements made to the stripped-down Android build over the previous iteration.

Android 11 (Go edition) is meant for phones with up to 2GB RAM and will come loaded on entry-level devices from a broad range of manufacturers.

Some of Android 11’s key features have made their way to the new Go edition

Conversations will be getting their dedicated space in the Notifications screen; improved permissions control for apps and there is support for system-wide gesture navigation

Permissions in the Go Edition will work just like Android 11. Users will be able to provide one-time permissions, after which that particular permission will be auto-reset for the app. The permission can just as easily be re-grant the next time.

Google also promises 20 percent faster app launches and is bringing a swipe-based gesture navigation system. Another new addition is Safe Folders which lets you protect sensitive files with a 4-digit PIN inside the Google Files app.

Finally, some older devices running on Android 10 (Go edition) will get the new update though there’s no exact list for now.
